In celebration of the Semiquincentennial, we are pleased to announce the release of our latest CD, “Burgoyne’s Lamentation: Music from the Time of the American Revolution.” With vocals, violin, dulcimer, flute, mandolin, harp, and more, we bring to life music from the Revolution itself and from the period in which it occurred. Here are songs celebrating American wins, mocking English losses, mourning the dead, and raising a glass to freedom. We hope this recording will bring you closer to the events and sensibilities of an era that changed the world forever. This recording is dedicated to our forebears on both sides of the war who made what they saw as principled choices in the difficult time, but especially to those who gave us the precious gift of freedom—and out of that, a democratic republic that has inspired the world for centuries. May we never take it for granted.
